What “Cattelya Atelier” means.
Cattelya Atelier takes its name from the Cattleya orchid (or Cataleya in Spanish). This is the national flower of Colombia, a country that I carry close to my heart and whose people I own a great part of what I am today.
The brand is both a project and a tool: a way to give my creativity shape and show the world my creations. Of course, this is a growing project, but I wish you enjoy and get inspired by all the different ideas you’ll find here.
The person behind
My name is Alicia, from Spain. From helping my family at their garment workshop to teaching myself how to mend my own clothes, sewing has always been part of my life.
After getting my Bachelor's degree in Law I came to the Netherlands in search of new experiences. Then, life itself led me to the perfect opportunity to pursue my true hidden passion.
That is how I ended up in Cibap Vakschool voor Vormgeving (Vocational School for Design). Here I am developing myself as a designer and seamstress with their MBO course Fabrics & Design. If you are curious about my work there, you can check the Blog.
